No crying. No pressure. Just smiles.

A child’s first visit to the dentist is like their first encounter with a new world. And it’s up to us to ensure that this world becomes friendly and safe, rather than scary and stressful.

At Cheese Dental, we offer onboarding sessions for our youngest patients, ages 1.5 and up.

FREE CONSULTATION with a dentist, therapist or surgeon this month only for primary patients

What is adaptation?

An onboarding appointment isn't a treatment. It's about getting to know each other, playing, and building trust.

During the visit, your child:
- explores the office with the doctor
- learns what a "vacuum cleaner," "hair dryer," and "mirror" are
- feels safe and, most importantly, is interested

Why bring a child if everything is fine?

You won't see caries, but the doctor will.

Initial enamel lesions are painless and not noticeable without special examination.

Because prevention is cheaper, faster, and painless.

Cleaning, fluoridation, and sealants are easy. But no one wants to drill their teeth.

Because a habit is formed – for life.

The sooner a child gets used to the dentist, the less fear, protests, and pain there will be in the future.

How does the adaptation visit take place?

01

Getting to Know the Doctor in a Playful Way

Yulia Radchenko adapts to the child's mood, engages their imagination, and leads them into play. There's no pressure, no "open your mouth"—it's all about communication and calm.

02

First diagnostics – if the child is ready

- Sometimes it's just a review
- Sometimes it's a light professional cleaning
- And sometimes it's just an introduction and that's it.

03

Understanding contact and next steps

The doctor assesses how the child responds to space, instruments, and voice.
And then plans when and how to begin treatment, if needed.

04

Adaptation is not always possible

If a child already has multiple cavities or complications, there's no time to play.
In such cases, the doctor immediately develops a treatment plan that's as gentle as possible, but without delay.

We provide all types of dental treatment for children.

Maximum comfort for little patients

Nitrous oxide (laughing gas)

This is a safe method of mild sedation that helps a child relax and relieve anxiety and fear.
The child remains conscious, breathes independently, responds to the doctor, and feels calm and confident. After the procedure, the effects wear off quickly, with no aftereffects.

Anesthesia/sedation

For extensive or complex treatments, we use medication-induced sleep.
The procedure is performed under the supervision of a pediatric anesthesiologist with over 30 years of experience, using modern equipment and continuous monitoring of the child's condition.
This allows for high-quality treatment in a single visit and without stress.

The ICON System and Modern Treatment Without Drilling

ICON seals the affected area of enamel with a special infiltrate, stopping the development of caries at an early stage. It's the ideal solution for children who are afraid of dental drills or have increased sensitivity.

Modern filling materials

Safe for children; durable and long-lasting; extremely aesthetically pleasing.

Maximum preservation of teeth

Our approach is minimal intervention and maximum preservation of a child's teeth. We treat only what truly needs to be treated, using the most modern and gentle techniques.

    Frequently Asked Questions

This is completely normal. In this case, we don't treat the patient, but rather get to know them: we play, ride in the chair, show them instruments, and communicate. Adaptation may take several visits—and this is the right approach for building trust.
The first visits aren't for treatment, but for adjustment. The child gets used to the doctor and the atmosphere, and understands that the dentist is safe and not scary. This helps avoid future fears.
It's recommended to begin the adaptation process when the first teeth appear or at 1-2 years of age. During these visits, we simply get to know each other, examine their teeth, and teach basic hygiene.
Everything happens through play: First, an introduction, then an examination of the teeth, followed by gentle brushing with a regular toothbrush. No pain, no pressure, at the child's own pace. The adaptation can take as long as the child needs to get used to it.
Children who have been adapted to dentistry from an early age don't fear the dentist as adults. For them, a visit to the dentist is a familiar and calming event, not stressful.
